COEUR WINE CO
Imagine a pastoral landscape in southern France just on the edge of the ocean, surrounded by the peaks of the Pyrenees and you will be here, in the perfect trifecta of bliss, where we find the home of Naticco. Naticco is Occitan, a dialect spoken in the French Languedoc region, spelled backwards. It is also a light and crisp Chardonnay brought to the US by Coeur Wine Co.
The packaging for Naticco represents the heritage of the region through a modern, lighthearted application. It is a place known for seafood, iconic cliffs, and bountiful plains. The undulating pattern on the label could be interpreted as the scales of a fish, the peaks of a mountain range, a sunset over a pasture, or all three. It is simple and bold. It asks to stand out on the shelf amongst a sea of traditionally French labels sporting portraits of linocut vineyards and fanciful script lettering. The pattern is complimented by simple, curved typography set in raised white foil to accentuate the movement across the label.
