Butter is a creative studio without borders, driven by the chance to change culture with every project and dedicated to creating intentional design that isn’t afraid to leave an impression.
We tell a brand’s story through visuals, language, and interfaces. It can be a whimsical story. It can be a curious one. It can be super simple. But whatever we create has to spark the imagination: yours and ours.
Butter is the studio practice of Cari Sekendur. Combining creativity and analytical thinking, Cari takes companies to the next level of their brand expression and recognition through strategic creative execution. Her creative approach is balanced both by research and writing background as well as a tactical business sense. These were informed by the early years of her career where she handled marketing and operations for fast-growing startups in New York City, Chicago, and Berlin. She has executed visual design, art direction, and brand strategy for a wide swath of companies, from Nike and Viacom to Other Half Brewing and Morgans Hotel Group. Her work has been exhibited in galleries from Paris to Los Angeles, and recognized by AIGA’s Eye on Design, Page Magazine, and It's Nice That, among others. She is a recreational boxer and soccer player and passionate about giving voice to communities that have often been underrepresented by the mainstream.
Design lives in the world. We see, touch, and interact with it daily. Here are the places and spaces where we can make a brand’s story really stand out.
